Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue will close out the program of outstanding virtuosity by a world acclaimed pianist. An afternoon of beautiful music, fine food, and Warren County hospitality is set for 3:00 p.m. at Cherry Hill, NC Hwy 58, Inez, a unique historical setting. Admission is $10, adults, $5 students, 12 and under, free.
PRAYER PAL SIGN UP: Sign up sheets for the 2026-2027 Prayer Pal Program are in the narthex for both children and youth as well as adult prayer partners. Please complete the appropriate form(s) and return to the box provided in the narthex or toRebecca Harris no later than August 1st. Assignments will then be made prior to the beginning of the school year.
PLEASE JOIN IN! Just for the joy of singing, during each Sunday in August, anyone who would like to join in singing a song beyond our hymnal is invited to gather at 10:30 a.m. for a brief rehearsal, sit in the congregation and come before the altar at the indicated time to join in singing. The music will be provided. The selections are: Just a Closer Walk with Thee, Jesus Paid it All, I Must Tell Jesus, Sweet Hour of Prayer and In the Sweet By and By. Come join our August Choir!
IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL TIME! We are now collecting school supplies for Mariam Boyd Elementary School through Sunday, August 16. The following items are needed and may be placed in the back of the church: boxes of crayons, 16-24 pack, pencils, eraser caps, colored pencils, dry erase markers, composition notebooks, pocket folders, spiral notebooks, glue sticks, boxes of tissues, sanitizer wipes and small bottles of hand sanitizer. Delivery will be made to Mariam Boyd prior to the start of school on August 24. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
HAVE EXTRA PRODUCE IN YOUR GARDEN?: Help Tuesday’s Table serve the community nutritious food with your donations. Fresh produce may be brought to church on Sundays and left in the produce collection bin in the narthex, or delivered during the week to Rebecca Harris at Citizens Insurance & Bonding, 130 N. Main St., Suite 4, Warrenton, Mon-Fri, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. During the month of July, Tuesday’s Table will be serving lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on 21. Service every Tuesday will begin in August at the Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Station, 236 S. Main St., Warrenton.
LOAVES AND FISHES NEEDS: Wesley Memorial’s “Volunteer Day” at Loaves and Fishes is Tuesday, July 28. Please meet at Loaves and Fishes at 8:30 a.m., 540 W. Ridgeway St., Warrenton. Also, Loaves and Fishes is in desperate need of egg cartons. Please save and bring your empty ones to the church narthex, and they will be delivered to them. Loaves and Fishes also remains in constant need of your unwanted plastic grocery bags. They will make great use of all that we provide! There is a collection box in the back entrance by the church office. Thanks!
FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON: Our next fellowship luncheon is planned for Sunday, August 16. Also planned for that day is the Prayer Pal BIG REVEAL, the day when children will learn who has been in daily prayer for them and making contact throughout the year. Please mark your calendars and plan to be with us here! As we approach our Prayer Pal Reveal Celebration, Adult Prayer Partners are encouraged to send notes to Prayer Pals telling them how excited you are to share this day and reminding them to plan to be present.
CELEBRATION OBSERVED: During July, in concert with our nation’s 250th celebration, each of our services will celebrate a freedom that we treasure in our country and our commitment to guarding those freedoms.
NOTE CARDS AVAILABLE: Wesley Memorial note cards have been printed and are available in packages of 5 for $5. Call or text Elaine Coleman, 252-425-5616, if you are interested in purchasing.
