SPECIAL OFFERING: On or before Sunday, March 15, you are invited to contribute to a special offering that will be collected for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to assist with response to natural disasters. EASTER LILIES: As in years past, you may order Easter lilies to be placed on the altar on Easter Sunday to honor loved ones. Lilies are $16 each. Please place orders, no later than Wednesday, March 25, by signing up in the narthex, by calling Jennifer Franks at 252 257-0633 or by emailing her at jhfranks13@gmail.com. There is a limited number of lilies available, so early orders are encouraged.
WMUMC RECEIVES AWARD: Sunday, March 8, was Girl Scout Sunday at Wesley Memorial, and members of Troop #2314, which is sponsored by the church, were in attendance and recognized at morning worship, and assisted in worship leadership. Troop Leader Jennifer Pierce presented the church with the N.C. Coastal Pines Division of the Girl Scouts' Community Partner of Excellence Award, for which the troop nominated Wesley Memorial.
COAT AND SWEATER COLLECTION: On Palm Sunday, the Gospel tells of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem, where people laid down their cloaks and palm branches before him. In celebration of Palm Sunday you are invited to bring gently used or new coats, sweaters or sweatshirts to our worship and afterwards to be donated to the Warren Ministries United Clothing Closet. There is a bin in the entrance way for you to deposit those articles before March 29.
NEW DS APPOINTMENT: Bishop Connie Shelton has announced that The Rev. David Joyner, Heritage District DS, will assume the role of Capital DS, and The Rev. LENTEN STUDY: During the season of Lent, February 22 - March 29, 2026 Ray Gooch is leading a study each Sunday morning on the Gospel lesson for that Sunday, 9:30 - 10:15ish. There is a study guide in the narthex for the season. All you need is a Bible and the study guide. All are welcome to join on any and all Sundays you are available. The study is meeting in the Fireside Room.
PRAYER TREE CROSS: The additional cross in our sanctuary was constructed from the Community Prayer Tree that graced our church lawn during Advent. Attached at the center of the cross are the shredded prayer concerns from the Prayer Tree, reminding us that our prayers and concerns are held in God’s heart. Throughout the season of Lent, this cross will help us focus on the gospel proclaimed by Jesus.
LENTEN DEVOTIONS: During the Lenten season, churches in cooperation with Warren Ministries United will host Lenten Devotions each Wednesday at 12 noon. You are invited to attend, and if you like, bring a bag lunch. The host church will provide beverages and dessert. FROM THE GROUNDS COMMITTEE: The first Grounds Workday of 2026 is scheduled for March 21, weather permitting. In the case of poor weather, the workday will be March 28. Everyone’s help is needed!
